How to Teach Dance (or anything else)

We'll look at skills that help anyone be a better teacher of any subject. All the examples I will give are focused around European Dance taught in the SCA context, but the lessons are broader: what are your goals as a teacher? what are your objectives for what your students will learn? how can you assess their current knowledge and adjust teaching style to meet them where they are? do you teach global style or analytic style? how can you use the ideas of sequencing, spiraling, scripting and fading to improve your students to understand, remember, and apply what you teach? The instructor has taught dance for 30 years, but has also taught many other subjects to people age birth to 90, and shares lessons she has learned.
